Breaking: Groundswell of support led to Kim's selection, board chair says

When Beong-Soo Kim was selected as USC’s interim president a year ago, the school said he would “not be a candidate for the permanent position.”
But a groundswell of support for Kim midway through the selection process led the board to reconsider, said Suzanne Nora Johnson, the chair of USC’s board, in an interview immediately after Kim’s unanimous selection for the presidency Wednesday.
